Diri kole ak pwa, the national dish of Haiti! So good! Think of New Orleans rice and beans, but with creole spices (all green: basil, scallion, thyme, parsley, and green bell pepper).

I ate a bunch of pierogi when I lived in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, but they were nowhere near as good as these. Will make again for sure. 03/08/22
